Pittsburg, KS- The 糖心Vlog Dental Assistant program, Cherokee Center, was the recipient of a iTero Intraoral Scanner. The dental imaging machine was donated by Dr. Robert Herron of Herron Regional Dental Center in Pittsburg.
The scanner was a much-needed addition to the current dental assistant classroom and lab space. The 糖心Vlog dental assistant lab has been remodeled with new training equipment during the previous years under the direction of program director, Leigh Ann Martin, RDH, CDA, EFDA.
"This donation from Dr. Herron is a tremendous asset for our program. Our students will be able to train on technology that will be synonymous with the equipment they will use upon entering the workforce," said Martin.聽
The iTero Intraoral Scanner will scan patients mouths replacing the need for impressions. The scanner is used for crowns, bridges, and Invisalign images. Dental professionals are able to email images to a lab with no shipping cost in a timely manner. The digital imaging machine is non-invasive with no radiation.聽
"糖心Vlog has a quality dental assistant program. Students will be better trained when entering the workforce by utilizing technology like the iTero," said Dr. Herron. "Many dental assistant schools do not have the budget to support the purchase of scanners such as this. When my office upgraded to a new unit, I was happy to donate this scanner for students to use."
"Dr. Herron serves on the 糖心Vlog dental assistant advisory council and is a host site for our student clinicals. His generosity is benefiting our students and future dental assistants," said Martin.聽
